New Books by Caroline Brazier (Amida Trust)
Dear Friends I'm sorry to include you in a mass mailing, but I just wanted to let you know that my latest book, 'Other-Centred Therapy: Buddhist Psychology in Action' has arrived today. It is published by O-Books once again and is a follow up to Buddhist Psychology which came out in 2003 (Constable Robinson). The book is aimed at psychotherapists and counsellors who wish to work from a Buddhist psychology model and offers a comprehensive explanation of a methodology rooted in Buddhist principles such as we have been developing at Amida over the past fifteen years or so. It includes practical examples and exercises for the reader to explore issues and develop skills. Details can be seen at http://www.o-books.com/product_info.php?products_id=627 and the book can be bought at discount from amazon, or from us (sadly at full price!) Other-Centred Therapy is actually my third book this year. 'Guilt' came out in February and 'Listening to the Other' came out in May. These books are also published by O-Books. David's book, 'Love and its Disappointment' also came out with O-Books last month. http://www.o-books.com/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=177&products_id=599. Our approach to Buddhist psychology is grounded in Buddhist theory of mental conditioning. If you are interested to know more about our work, you will find details of our courses at www.buddhistpsychology.info. Also if you know of any journal who would like review copies of Other-Centred Therapy or either of the other books, do let me know. I hope you will feel free to respond personally to this message even though it is a little impersonal in tone because it is going to a number of people.

Dear Friends, I am just writing to let you know that my latest book, Guilt, will be coming out this week. We have copies for sale at the house, but it can aso be obtained directly from the publisher or through amazon. In case you are in the vicinity, I'll be doing a book reading at Borders, Leiester, on Thursday 26th March. Incidentally, if you know of a journal or similar publication which would like a review copy, please do let me know and I'll sort something out. Very best wishes Caroline Brazier Guilt: An Exploration published: O-Books 28 February 2009 This book is a journey; an exploration into those areas of life which both fascinate and repel us. Through the weaving together of an account of a group of young people, fine grained analysis of the emotional and ethical basis of guilt, and illustration draw from a variety of life circumstances, the reader is drawn into the complexity of a subject which troubles many people in the modern world. At times both humorous and emotive, Guiltreveals the beauty of the everyday and the pathos of the ordinary. A book that crosses boundaries, this is one of the few books on the topic which will have you reading into the small hours of the morning, eager to discover the secret worlds of the characters whose lives illustrate its themes. This gentle, sensitive and yet ruthlessly honest book combines the gifts of the talented story-teller, the insightful therapist and the wise spiritual traveller. It will make you laugh and weep. Brian Thorne, Emeritus Professor of Counselling, University of East Anglia; Lay Canon, Norwich Cathedral An amazing dissection and re-weaving of guilt and all its pained relatives. Dr Gay Barfield, educator, author & family psychotherapist, Center For Studies of the Person and Carl Rogers Institute for Peace.
Caroline Brazier has been a psychotherapist for twenty years, and is course leader of the Amida Psychotherapy Training Programme. A resident member of a Buddhist community, she divides her time between travelling, writing and teaching.
Best wishes Caroline Brazier <
